Russell, in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand is only 3 hours drive from Auckland. Russell is the first choice for discerning travellers. This historic village and sheltered anchorage is a convenient departure point for all cruises and activities on the Bay. Bay of Islands view from deck Left is the view from our balcony overlooking the Bay, Paihia and Waitangi. We are next to a native bush reserve with pleasant walks (a kiwi zone) and close to the historic Flagstaff lookout, which has a full 360 degree overview of the Bay of Islands. Accommodation at 'A Place in the Sun' is peaceful and private, yet close to all amenities. There is safe off street parking with security lighting for cars and boat trailers, and we are just 400 metres from the wharf, Russell's 'front door'. We will meet you at the passenger ferry if you are arriving by public transport.
