The mandate of the Tourism and Conservation Department of RDB is: To conserve the rich biodiversity of the Protected Areas and to develop, sustainable tourism in collaboration with stakeholders for the benefit of all the Rwandan People. The goal of the Tourism Division under the Tourism and Conservation Department is: ‘To turn Rwanda into a major tourism destination and regional conference hub for Central and Eastern Africa with high quality diversified products that contribute to the country’s overall socio economic development.’ The goal of Conservation Division under the Tourism and Conservation Department is: ‘To maintain, enhance and sustain the ecological integrity, health and productivity of Rwanda’s ecosystems, as pillars of environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
