Tassia Lodge - Profile

General Information

Tassia Lodge is set on the edge of 60,000 acres of forest and home to lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, kudu and a host of bird and plant life. Escaping to Tassia allows for total immersion into the Lekurruki conservation area and insight into the life of the local community. Tassia was built for the Mokogodo Massai, allowing a symbiotic relationship with community and conservation. Wildlife conservation is a viable alternative land use that compliments the traditional pastoralism. Tassia is closely linked to Borana Ranch and Lewa Wildlife conservancy, both catalysts for conservation in Northern Kenya.

Additional Information

Tassia lodge is built using local low impact materials. No trees were cut down and the entire project was constructed with the preservation of the environment in mind. The lodge uses solar power for electricity and energy-saving hot water heaters. The lodge's six bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms offer comfortable and inviting accommodation to the weary adventurer at the end of a full and exciting day. Tassia guests can be as sociable or reclusive as they choose, either enjoying the excellent cuisine in the tranquility of their bedrooms or on the pool verandah or joining others at the bar and dining room.
