ERM Emperor's Retreat Mara - Profile

General Information

The Camp is on a junction of the Talek River and its tributaries. It is protected on three sides by these rivers and overlooked by the Masai Mara reserve. The rivers give a natural barrier to the reserve and provide protection from its lions and other wild animals. The salt lick on our sanctuary is a constant attraction to elephants and other animals. Frequently featured on BBC big cat diaries, this area is also famed for leopards, lions and hippos. The 300 acre private sanctuary is on the wildebeest migration path. During the migration periods of June to October, the area is teeming with wildebeest, zebras and other migratory herds that participate in the greatest wildlife show on Earth.

Additional Information

Our Masai partners are at hand to show you around, either on foot or in vehicles. For those wanting a team building experience, we have the perfect answer. The area is excellent for team picnics, bush lunches or activities. The camp offers an authentic experience in the heart of Masai Mara. It caters for the adventurer who loves wildlife and wants to protect it. When booked, the area will be for your exclusive use, with a private guide, chef and host.
